Carlos Tevez has decided to retire from football.
His father's death last year caused him to retire despite offers to continue his career.
"I stopped playing because I lost my number one fan," he told America TV.
It's confirmed that I've retired. The United States was one of the things they offered me. I have provided everything.
I was able to see my old man, despite playing the last year very hard.
The man died after contracting Covid-19.
In between two spells with Boca, Tevez played for a number of other teams.
He made 75 appearances for his country by the year 2015, after winning an Olympic gold medal in 2004.
After a controversial move which saw the club fined for breaching ownership rules, he played a key role in the Hammers' survival in the premier league.
In the summer of 2009, he moved to Manchester and joined City.
He missed three months of the 2012 season because he refused to come on as a substitute in a game, but he still won the league title at City.
He scored 84 goals in 202 games during his seven years in England.
