The company's decision to close a store in Ithaca, New York, has prompted the workers' union to accuse the company of retaliation.

The National Labor Relations Board received the complaint on Friday.

Reggie Borges, a Starbucks spokesman, told Insider that the store was closed due to facilities, staffing, and time and attendance issues.

According to the report, Alan Model, an attorney for Starbucks, sent an email to the union to inform them of the store's impending closing.

Evan said that Starbucks wouldn't get away with retaliating against them. We will persist whatever it takes.

More than 50 Starbucks and three Ithaca stores have voted to unionize in the last few months.
