According to Gohmert, the indictment points to a two-tiered justice system.

Gohmert said that if you are a Republican, you can't lie to Congress or the FBI.

Lying to the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of the government of the United States is a felony. The code doesn't mention politics.

A grand jury indicted a former Trump advisor on Friday for refusing to testify and give documents to a congressional committee.

The baseless claim that the 2020 election was stolen has been spread by Gohmert. Gohmert didn't run for reelection for his House seat and instead ran for attorney general of Texas, where he placed last out of four candidates in the May primary.
