Sandals Commemorates First Property in Dutch Caribbean

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the Sandals Royal Curaao which recently began welcoming guests.

Adam Stewart, executive chairman of SRI, said that today marks a dream decades in the making. It's a great honor to share this incredible destination with the world. I wish my father and founder of our family, Gordon "Butch" Stewart, could have been here to see this happen.

The ceremony included remarks from industry leaders, including the Prime Minister of Curaao, Gilmar Pisas.

The arrival of Sandals Royal Curaao has given us a competitive advantage in our region. The impact on our local people and economy is one of the most beautiful parts of this process. The resort is located in the southern part of the island and blends nature with resort experiences.

The brand's first bi-level pool overlooks the Spanish Water and the mountains.

There are two new signature suite categories at the resort. Privileges for select suites include access to sporty and stylish convertible MINI Coopers to drive while exploring the island, as well as soaking Tubs and private pools.

There are seven restaurants that are new to the brand and only available at this resort. Gourmet food trucks and bars can be found at the resort.

The off-site dining program, Island Inclusive, is the first of its kind. The concept is available to guests on seven-night minimum stays who are booked in Butler suites, as well as Sandals Select Reward Members, offering one $250USD voucher to dine out at one of the eight partner restaurants, with off-site transportation included.

Stewart introduced Future Goals, a program that turns fishing nets from the ocean into soccer goals for children, during the ceremony. Through the power of youth sports, the program is able to expand opportunities for locals. The program's official launch took place last month at MGR Niewindt College.
