According to NASA, an asteroid up to three times the size of a blue whale will pass by Earth on June 6 at more than 16,000 mph.
The asteroid is predicted to miss us by more than 2 million miles, or 10 times the distance between Earth and the moon. The size of the space rock is between 121 and 272 feet (37 to 83 meters) wide. It's not large enough to be considered a potential hazard to Earth.
