The gym is doing well. He has a lot of kids working out and is feeling good. He starts to take advantage of his new position in the community. He loses one of his original talents as a result of it. He lost another, Michael, who he never connected with until it was too late, as well.
DuQuan a.k.a. is Michael's friend. Dookie isn't made for the street. A thin boy with a big heart who was born into a family of drug dealers can't find his purpose. The first boxer to leave the gym beats Dookie on the corner. Cutty is Michael's friend and the only one he knows that can help him.
Cutty realized it wasn't going to work when Dookie showed no boxing ability. They chat for a while. Cutty told him that there is a way to live that isn't being tough all of the time. He has to concede that it is the only way in this area. He says all he has is thoughts and wishes. I would like it to be more. I do, that's right.
The show is colored by the pain. There is a kid who really needs help, something different, and there is a person who would love to help him, but he doesn't have the resources. There is no avenue out of their reality. Many people are stuck with a reality. Hip-hop reality radio is called by Chuck D. That's what makes The Wire true T.V.
