The Council for Native Hawaiian advancement received a multimillion dollar marketing contract from the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

The Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau has been with the state for more than two decades.

The contract includes brand management and visitor education services, as well as support services for Hawaii's official travel website, app, social media channels and creative content.

The mission of the CNHA is to improve the cultural, economic, political, and community development of Native Hawaiians.

The CNHA said in a statement that it was "humbled" that the HTA trusted it to deliver change in the visitor industry.

The multiyear deal with the CNHA will start on June 30 and end on December 31, 2024, with the option to extend it for two more years.

The HVCB is reviewing the appropriate course of action after they were disappointed in the outcome. The work we have done together to steer a new course is not reflected in this.

HVCB's existing contracts with Global MCI, Destination Management Action Plans, and the Island Chapters will remain in force, despite the fact that they have been terminated.

The winner of the RFP for the U.S. market was decided by an evaluation committee made up of community and industry leaders.
