Jeffrey Lurie is the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles and he supports changing gun laws in the US.
In a statement released on the team's official account, Lurie said the "senseless acts of violence will not cease to occur without a concerted effort from those who govern our nation." Citizens need to call on lawmakers to change the law to ban assault weapons, he said.

"My hope is that citizens organizing around changing the laws will influence our elected officials to create and pass legislation so the people in this country can feel safe when they leave their homes," he said.
In the wake of a series of mass shootings across the country, calls for gun-law reform have been renewed. Ten people were killed and three were injured in a racist attack at a grocery store in a predominantly Black neighborhood.
