Buying any type of point or mile comes with a risk that you won't be able to use them. When you see the award availability, you can buy them with a specific redemption in mind.
You know you are getting the value you want out of the points when you use them immediately. I will give a few examples further down in this post, but I don't advise you to buy points without a purpose.
If you want a 100% bonus, you can buy 160k points and get 160k bonus.
If you don't have an immediate use for them, it's better to wait.
The points can be pooled into a single account. You can transfer up to 500k from a single account, but up to 11 people can participate in a pool, and one member can receive up to 2,000,000 points. You can circumvent the restriction by having multiple people buy points, reimburse them, and then pool them all into your account. That is a lot of work. I'm just saying what's possible.

The strategy is the same regardless of the class of hotel, just make sure you save money and use a fifth night free.
If you start from zero you will need to pool. A 5 night stay at a hotel that charges over $1k per night will cost you $2 400. These are examples and aren't reflective of current Covid restrictions so make sure to get into your destination before buying.
This deal is within reach because of the ability to pool up to 2 million points. The most accounts that can be merged is 500k.
Don't buy points speculatively. We are giving crazy expensive destinations to show the potential of deals like this. Unless it makes sense, don't buy points to redeem at the hotel.
