In another example of the out-of-control proliferation of firearms in America, a shopper was robbed of his assault-style rifle at a food store.
According to a police statement, the shopper retrieved a second gun from his car and shot the bandit last week in Wellston, Missouri. Two people were injured in the shooting of the robbery suspect.
Maj. Ron Martin of the North County Police Cooperative said that the shopper had an assault-style weapon in a gun sleeve. It's legal to carry firearms openly in the state.
According to police, a man held a gun to the owner's head and demanded his rifle as he stepped outside.
