Final Fantasy XVI is coming summer 2023

Today's State of Play is for Final Fantasy fans. There is more information about Final Fantasy XII.

In the new trailer, we get our first glimpse of combat, which looks similar to what Cloud and the gang get up to in Final Fantasy VII ReMake. The trailer shows more of the Eikons, monsters that look like Final Fantasies of yore and seem to reside in human controllers. In the game, befriending or fighting these Dominants will be the center of the story.

In 2020 there was a bloody trailer that was unlike anything the series usually displays. Fans of the series hope that the game will be more similar to Final Fantasy XIV and less similar to Final Fantasy XV, because Naoki Yoshida is the game's creative director. The game's release schedule was delayed by six months and Yoshida promised news about it in the spring of 2020. Square Enix will open up interviews with the press in the coming months in hopes of sharing more information about Final Fantasy XII.

In the summer of 2023, Final Fantasy XII will be released on the PS5.
