The company is losing another executive because of a reorganization of its artificial intelligence group, a day after the COO announcement of her departure.

The VP of Artificial Intelligence at Meta will be leaving later this month as the company integrates his teams across different product groups rather than having them function as a centralized organization. It's already used for everything from ordering what you see when you open Facebook to the software that powers the headsets. The reorg is meant to leverage the newest artificial intelligence technology at scale.

The artificial intelligence research team led by Yann LeCun, Meta's chief artificial intelligence scientist and an early pioneer in the field, will move to Bosworth's Reality Labs to consolidate resources in the augmented and virtual reality division. Meta wants to define its vision of the metaverse with the help of artificial intelligence. It is important to compete with TikTok in order to better compete.

When the last mile becomes too far for downstream teams to close the gap, more centralized approaches run into their limits. We are excited to push the boundaries of what artificial intelligence can do and use it to create new features and products for billions of people.
