The team relocation is the first official one of the league. The Paris Eternal, one of the League's two European teams, will be moving to Las Vegas in the year 2023.

The company that owns the Eternal and its Call of Duty League sister team, Paris Legion, filed for trademarks for Vegas Eternal and Vegas Legion, sparking rumors of a possible relocation. Both teams confirmed the rumors.

This isn't the first team relocation of the league. The Asian Pacific division was created to better balance the two regions when the League split into regions. The relocated teams represent their hometowns. The teams would return to their cities to host events if the League returned to its stated goal of emulating a traditional sports model. The OWL is holding its first live event of the year on June 2nd through June 5th in Dallas, Texas. The Eternal did not win a match this season. I don't know what to say.

Unfortunately, Paris will not be able to host such an event due to this relocation news. Fans from France broke out in song during the Paris leg of the World Cup.

In honor of the Eternal's first match as a new expansion team, fans lit up the arena with their cell phone lights.

Fans gave bread to people to take out of their mouths. It's serious. I was present.

The Eternal front office was unable to comment beyond their confirmation of the news. There is a big fancy esports arena in Las Vegas, which might indicate that live OWL events are coming back in a big way.
