Speaking publicly for the first time since ending his retirement after 40 days, Tom Brady said Wednesday that he felt pressure to end his retirement due to free agency.

At this point, it's 45% yes and 45% no. Brady said that the reality was what happened after Capital One's The Match golf outing with Rodgers, Mahomes, and Allen. It's not that I'm not committed, it's just as soon as I commit to do it. Here we go. It's similar to running a race. Two weeks before the marathon, you can't say, "Hey, I'm going to start running." We got right to free agency and I was under a lot of pressure to do it, but it all worked out.

He was asked if he was ready to stop working.

Brady will be 45 in August. If you were to ask me if they were going to play football next year, I would probably say no. There's a good chance I'm playing. I have other responsibilities and that has changed.

"So the responsibilities are many people taking care of me and things that I have off the field that are really important to me like my family, my kids and my wife." It's difficult when you get older because of the commitment she makes. I don't think they are aware of what's happening. As we all do, our life gets bigger and we have more responsibilities.

Brady will become an unrestricted free agent in the year 2022. He has not talked about his future in the future.
