The next product from Sonos is an eagerly anticipated one and it is moving closer to release. According to Janko Roettgers of Protocol, the FCC has approved the upcoming Sonos Sub Mini.

The Sub Mini was tested in a setup that included a master device, and it was clear from the filing that it was the one we were looking at. The location of the FCC compliance label is shown in a diagram.

The FCC filing confirms the Sub Mini’s cylindrical shape.

The sub mini's overall design was revealed by The Verge last month. The final product depicts what the Sub Mini will look like.

Many fans of the company are wondering how much the entry-level subs will cost. There is a lot of room to play with with the regular Sub priced at $799. Hopefully it won't be long before we learn the differences between the Sub Mini and its bigger, squarer sibling.

There could be a lot of wait left. About a month before the company announced the device, it was seen at the FCC. The FCC filing for the Sonos Ray was discovered in March and the new soundbar was unveiled in May.

The company launched its own voice control service for its smart speakers yesterday.
