I’m told Robinson Cano is officially no longer with the #Padres. He’s already been informed.

The Padres had a signing on May 13. He had three hits in 33 plate appearances.

He is an eight-time All-Star, five-time Silver Slugger and two-time Gold Glove winner. After making his debut with the New York Yankees in 2005, he has played 17 seasons in the bigs. In the American League, Cano finished in the top six in American League Most Valuable Player voting from 2010 to 2014, as well as winning the World Series with the Bronx Bombers.

The.301 lifetime hitter left the Yankees after nine seasons and signed with the Seattle Mariners. In December of last year, the M's traded the second baseman to the Mets in a package deal.

The Mets released the 39-year-old after he hit just.195 with 43 plate appearances.

The veteran hit.316 with 10 home runs and 30 RBI in the 2020 season and appeared ready to contribute in 2021.

In November 2020, Cano was suspended for using stanozolol and missed the entire season.

That was the second performance enhancing drug suspension for the second baseman, as he had an 80 gamer for the same drug.

He is a free agent again. Heilbrunn gave a glimpse of what he could be doing next.

Canó did not get the results he or the #Padres anticipated when he signed, but he brought value to this clubhouse in the short time he was here. Loves this game and hopes to continue playing and maybe someday, have a front office job:https://t.co/z0K2y2WCJk

He has a batting average of.301 with 335 home runs, 1,306 RBI and 2,635 hits. He is third on the active hit list.
