Multiple sources say that the former Dallas Cowboys running back was found dead on Wednesday.

His cause of death is not known.

A police officer is currently out on a welfare concern, but we are unable to provide any further information at this time.

The man was 38. June 10 is his birthday.

During his seven years in the NFL, Barber played for the Cowboys six times.

He was a Pro Bowler in 2007, but he didn't start a game for Dallas because of Julius Jones.

He finished his career with 4,780 rushing yards and 53 rushing touchdown.

He played for the Bears in 2011.

The start of the 2012 season was when Barber retired.

Since his retirement, Barber's life has been in a tailspin.

Barber was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation after he was arrested by police.

Barber was accused of damaging two cars by running in Frisco and was charged with two counts of criminal mischief.

A witness said that Barber charged toward their vehicle, causing large dents to the side of their cars.

Roughly a year ago, former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant wrote on social media that he couldn't enjoy watching old highlights of Barber because he knew he was down and out.

I built personalcorner because I know exactly how barber life is going right now. Bryant said that he can enjoy it because he is down and out bad.

As I watch this video and me knowing exactly how Marion barber life is going right now today is why I built @personalcorner .... I can’t even enjoy it because he’s down and out bad...we are just a stat and moments to most people... https://t.co/V5oKxdAzOZ
