Heard told jurors that she was sexually abused multiple times by Depp. Her evidence included photos of her bruised face and red marks on her face, as well as testimony from her friends, sister, and makeup artist, who said they either saw or heard about the attacks on her.
On May 5, Heard testified about how the two started arguing during a trip to Australia in 2015, and that Depp became violent towards her. She said that she was penetrated with a bottle by Depp.
Heard said that Johnny had the bottle inside of him and was shoving it inside of him.
Heard testified that she laughed at one of his tattoos when he hit her. She said that when she thought he was joking, he slapped her again. She said she lost her balance after he slapped her a third time.
Heard said that the worst thing had just happened to him and that he wished he had said he was joking.
Audiotapes and text messages were used by his team to paint him as a victim of domestic abuse. The actor would often hide from Heard when she became violent.
During the flight to Australia, Heard threw a bottle at him, severing his finger. Heard's attorney told jurors that he cut his own finger. Heard confirmed she threw pots and pans at him in audiotapes that were played by lawyers. Heard said she hit Depp but didn't punch him.
Heard says in the audio recording that he did not punch you.
The actors met on the set of The Rum Diary and were married in 2015. A year after Heard filed for divorce, she obtained a restraining order against Depp. Depp accused her ofalleging abuse and trying to get a premature financial resolution.
In 2016 they settled the divorce and released a joint statement saying their relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but that neither party had made false accusations for financial gain.
There was no intent of physical or emotional harm, according to the statement.
The Sun libeled Depp two years later after he was accused of being a wife beater. The lawsuit was lost by Depp.
