In a statement provided by a company spokesman to Forbes and other outlets, the company cited Johnson and McDowell's decision to play in the tournament.

The new league's first event in London next week conflicts with the Canadian Open, which is sponsored by the bank.

The biggest name in the new golf league is the winner of the 2020 Master, Johnson, who is the top-ranked player in the event.

The prize money pool for each LIV Golf tournament is more than double that of PGA Tour majors thanks to financial backing from Saudi Arabia.

Several sponsors dropped Phil Mickelson for his comments in February after he told the PGA Tour he wanted to play in the new league. Johnson's decision to play for LIV Golf was a huge surprise considering he had previously expressed his desire to play on the PGA Tour. The potential repercussions from playing with LIV Golf are worrying, according to the report.
