Our Flag Means Death is setting sail for a heartbreaking season 2

The second season of Our Flag Means Death will return in time for this year's Pride Month. The creator of Our Flag Means Death expressed gratitude to the show's fans for their support and commitment to the romance at the center of the first season.

The show was special, but fans embraced the inhabitants of the Revenge so much that a second season is all the more sweet.

The first season of Our Flag Means Death ended with a mix of bad timing and poor communication that dashed the plan to run, as Stede Bonnet and Blackbeard realized they had fallen in love with one another. When we spoke with him earlier this year, he told us that the next chapters of Our Flag Means Death will explore the emotional headspaces of Stede and Blackbeard, who find themselves in following their falling out.

In the same way that season 1 was about falling in love for the first time, season 2 will look at what it feels like to have a heart broken.

The pirate stuff is there, but it's not about those things.

The first season of Our Flag Means Death is currently streaming on HBO Max, but there is no word on when the second season will debut.
