A bison gored a tourist and tossed her 10 feet into the air.
The woman was visiting from Ohio on Monday, May 30, according to the National Park Service. She came within 10 feet of the bison on the boardwalk near the Old Faithful geyser.
The bison walked by a female on the boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, just north of Old Faithful.
The woman had puncture wounds and other injuries. She was taken to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
The incident is the first between a bison and a tourist.

They are unpredictable and can run three times faster than humans.
According to the park, bison can weigh up to 2,000 pounds and run up to 30 miles per hour. At all times, park visitors should be at least 25 yards away from bison.
