England v New Zealand: James Anderson and Stuart Broad return as Matthew Potts makes debut at Lord's

The first Test between England and New Zealand will be held on Thursday at Lord's.

James Anderson and Stuart Broad were left out of the West Indies tour.

It is England's first Test under new leadership.

Ben Foakes will be the wicketkeeper, while former skipper Joe Root will bat at four.

The England Test captain stepped down in April after the series defeat in the West Indies.

In his first six appearances for Durham this year, Potts has taken 35 of his own and has been picked ahead of Craig Overton.

England have just one win in their past 17 Tests and are bottom of the World Test Championship table.
