Best Western isn't the most generous loyalty program out there. The latest promotion is valid for stays this summer, and it has been revealed.

Earn a free night award and then double points

Best Western rewards members can earn double points on stays if they earn a free night certificate after staying two nights. The promotion is valid for stays between June 6 and September 4, 2022, at any Best Western branded property in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.

There are more things to be aware of.

• Registration is required prior to your first eligible stay (though it’s fine if you booked before registering)
• While this promotion is open to Best Western Rewards members regardless of where they live, hotel stays must take place in the United States, Canada, and/or the Caribbean, to be eligible for this offer
• Eligible stays include those booked directly with Best Western at non-special discounted rates
• You earn a free night certificate after staying two eligible nights
• The free night can be redeemed for stays Sunday through Thursday nights; it can’t be redeemed Friday or Saturday night
• The free night can be redeemed for stays between September 5, 2022, and February 16, 2023
• The free night can be redeemed at any Best Western branded property in the United States, Canada, or Caribbean
• Each member can only earn one reward night during the promotion period

You can expect an email offer to invite you to register for a double points promotion if you qualify for the free night award. You have to opt in to receive this invitation. We don't know the terms of the promotion beyond that.

How rewarding is this Best Western promotion?

Best Western has an awesome promotion. The program offers a double points promotion, but it's the free night after the first two nights that sets it apart.

Depending on the property, Best Western requires between 8,000 and 36,000 points per night for a free night redemption. I value Best Western points at around 0.25 cents each.

With that in mind.

• Earning a free night award after just two nights is exceptionally rewarding, especially since you could stay at the cheapest property for two nights, and then redeem at the most expensive property
• As far as double points go, Best Western Rewards ordinarily offers 10x points per dollar spent, meaning that double points would get you an extra 10x points per dollar spent, which I value at an incremental 5% return (this doesn’t include the rewards you’d earn for credit card spending, plus any bonus rewards you’d earn if you have elite status with Best Western Rewards)

The summer 2022, promotion of Best Western has just been revealed. After staying two nights, members can earn a free night and double points on subsequent stays. The double points promotion offered by the program is not as good as this one.
