The first-generation iPad Pro will be added to the vintage products list at the end of June, according to an internal memo distributed to Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers.
After more than five years have passed since Apple last sold the product, it becomes vintage. Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers now offer repairs for vintage products for up to an additional two years, subject to parts availability, even though they were previously ineligible for service at Apple.
The original iPad Pro had a larger display than all previous iPad models. The iPad Pro was a direct competitor to the Microsoft Surface with the introduction of the Smart Keyboard and the Apple Pencil. The Smart Keyboard is attached to the iPad Pro.
The original iPad Pro had a Home button with Touch ID and four speakers. In the United States, the starting price for a model with 32GB of storage is $799.
The memo says that the 32GB models of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be classified as vintage at the end of June.
The Apple TV HD will be classified as vintage at the end of June, despite Apple continuing to sell the device with 32GB of storage, according to multiple sources.
Even if the Apple TV HD were to be discontinued at the upcoming conference, it would be too soon for the device to be classified as "vintage", as it would be nowhere near five years since distribution.
The Apple TV HD was first released in October of 2015 and was renamed after the Apple TV 4K was released in September of 2017). It has not been more than five years since the Apple TV HD was bundled with a slightly modified Siri Remote with a white circle around the Menu button, but that does not seem to be the case.
The third-generation Apple TV, which was discontinued in October 2016 but remained available for some time after that, is one possible explanation.
