The prosecution dropped all charges against the Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, who was arrested earlier this month.
Jon Bartman, the country's public information officer, told Deadspin that Jeudy was taken into custody on May 12 and charged with tampering with a domestic violence enhancer. After a court appearance the next day, Jeudy was released from prison.
The mother of Jeudy's one-month old daughter said at a court appearance on May 13 that she did not consider Jeudy a threat and that there was no physical contact. She only called the police to have the situation monitored because she wanted the charges dismissed.
The law in Colorado states that a domestic violence enhancer can be placed if the perpetrators take action to intimidate, alarm or threaten the victim.
The charges were dropped Tuesday by the district attorney. According to 9News in Denver, the victim reported that her wallet, car seat, and child's medical papers were locked up in his car. He wouldn't give her access to her property because she wanted to leave the home.
Jeudy was drafted by the Broncos in the first round in 2020 and played in all 16 games. He had 52 catches for 856 yards and three touchdown. Jeudy was limited to 10 games due to an ankle injury and only hauled in 38 passes for 467 yards and no touchdown. His best game in the NFL was against the Raiders in January 2021, when he caught five passes for 140 yards and a touchdown.
