The Philadelphia 76ers big man had surgery Monday.

There were two procedures on the left index finger and the torn thumb on the right thumb of Embiid.

He is expected to be available when training camp begins.

In the third game of the first-round playoff series against the Toronto Raptors, the Philadelphia center injured his thumb. He was seen wearing medical tape on his hand during the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Miami Heat.

Philadelphia's best player all season was Embiid, who finished second in the Most Valuable Player voting. He averaged 30.6 points, 11.7 rebound and 4.2 assists in the regular season.

The 76ers were eliminated from the playoffs by the Heat. He missed the first two games of the series because of a concussion and a broken orbital bone.

The Philadelphia 76ers have lost in the first or second round of the playoffs for the fifth year in a row. They haven't advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals since the 2000-01 season, when they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals.

Since he is expected to be ready for training camp, his surgeries shouldn't affect Philadelphia's plans.
