TikTok is testing a new feature that would allow for a distraction-free scrolling experience on the app. The new feature is currently in limited testing. When viewing content on the app, clear mode will remove all of the on-screen items.

Users spotted the new setting and it was highlighted by Matt Navarra. Users have posted pictures showing that once clear mode is activated, you will no longer be able to see usernames, audio information and more. In some cases, it is possible to get rid of the like, comments, and share buttons in order to have a distraction-free viewing experience.

Users who are part of the limited test and have access to clear mode will see the option when they tap and hold the screen. The Add to Favorites button in the menu will show you the Clear Mode setting. Clicking on that will cause the viewing experience to be distraction-free.

The new feature could be a good addition for people who want to get rid of the on-screen distraction and just focus on the content that they are watching. In instances where usernames and caption end up covering important parts of a video, clear mode could be useful. In addition, viewers will often comment on a video, indicating that they want the user to reupload the video so that it can be suck and suck again, without any caption or buttons obstructing the content. This problem could be solved with the help of clear mode.

At this time, TikTok doesn't have much to share on the test. It is not known when or if TikTok will roll out clear mode more widely.
