The new Barracuda and the Barracuda Pro are dual wireless headsets that feature excellent sound quality and are available in two different colors. The top of the lineup, the Pro, is available for $249.99, and they have a few things in common with the other models: active noise cancellation, plush leatherette ear pads, and a more breathable woven fabric.
Both of the new models feature bigger 50mm drivers, instead of the 40mm drivers that are found in the other models, and there are beamforming microphones that can be used for noise cancellation. You can switch between the two devices with a double-tap of the dedicated button in the new models, which is called SmartSwitch dual Wireless. I like when a headset can play audio from two wireless connections at the same time, like SteelSeries and Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, but I don't know if it works well.
While it has earned its spot among the greats with its gaming headsets, it still has a lot to prove when it comes to winning over Bose, Beats, or Sony loyalists in the high-end headphones space. I was pleasantly surprised by the 2020 Razer Opus headphones, which offered good build quality and good sound for the price. The Barracuda Pro seems to have been even more worked on by Razer. The company chose to use bio-cellulose drivers, which it says can reduce distortion.
