A brand new all-electric take on the 80s sportscar from Back to the Future has been teased.

The company that bought the rights to the intellectual property of the original company gave us the first glimpse of its Alpha 5 vehicle in a series of images this week.

1.21 Gigawatts

As expected, the Alpha 5 will feature two gull-wing doors that open out and upwards, just like the 1982 car that took the Marty McFly and Doc Brown for a variety of time travel adventures.

The real life version will have electric motor-powered muscle that can go from 0 to 60 mph in just under three seconds.

The performance model will come with a 100 kWh battery, giving it a top range of 300 miles.

The new EV is more or less what we know at the moment. We will likely learn more about the car in August, when it is scheduled to make its premiere.

The company is hoping to begin deliveries in 2024, so you will have to be patient, unless the company decides to visit us in the summer of 2022.

A first look at the Alpha 5 EV revival is offered by DeLorean.

The DeLoreans are rumored to be coming back as electric cars.
