Jeff Gladney played for Minnesota Vikings before joining Arizona Cardinals in March this year

Jeff Gladney died in a car accident at the age of 25.

The crash occurred in Dallas in the early hours of Monday morning and according to reports a female passenger also died in the incident.

Gladney was signed by Arizona on a two-year deal in the off-season.

The Cards said in a statement that they were devastated to learn of Jeff Gladney's passing.

Our hearts go out to his family, friends and all who are mourning his death.

Gladney was selected by the Vikings as the 31st pick in the 2020 NFL draft.

He played in 16 games, making 15 starts, before being released in August 2021.

After sitting out the 2021 season, Gladney was found not guilty and signed with the Cards.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jalen Reagor, who played with Gladney at TCU, paid tribute to him on the social networking site.

The news to hear this morning is horrifying. It was just tragic. Rest in peace Jeff.
