Erik ten Hag says he does not see taking the Manchester United manager's job as a risk as he starts work at Old Trafford

The first team prepares for a fresh start under the new manager and I am thrilled to be rejoining Manchester United.

It has been a privilege to serve the premier league for the past five years, but I can't wait to get started at United and play my part in creating the right environment for football success

At the premier league, O&Boyle has been responsible for advising clubs on talent identification and recruitment, performance analysis, sports science and medicine, psychology, and loan management.

He is working towards a doctorate and is about to complete his pro licence this summer.

Murtough said that they were delighted to have Andy back to Manchester United to take up this important role in the club's leadership.

Andy has experience in all areas of football, from fitness and sports science to scouting and recruitment.

This will make him a valuable addition to my team at Carrington as we continue to strengthen leadership and strategic planning across all our football activities.

The last piece of the puzzle was described by Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho. He pointed out that United had won every trophy in the world of football.

The victory in Stockholm was supposed to be the beginning. It may have been their third trophy of the season, but it had also been their most difficult as a manager, according to Jose.

United finished sixth in the league. The red machine seemed to be able to make silverware. The FA Cup was in front of Louis van Gaal when he was sacked.

There was an assumption that United would improve. The fifth anniversary of that win came and went, but the most recent trophy remained. Since then, they have won six. Manchester City have won a lot of games.

How did that happen? How did it happen? It is a tale of arrogance and self-destructive behavior. There were many problems from ownership to recruitment. The solution? It is not clear if that has been found.

We look at how and why it went wrong for a club that used to be synonymous with success.
