Amazon Cloud Cam

If you are reluctant to buy a replacement for the Cloud cam, you may not mind. Amazon will give away a free security camera and a one-year subscription to a higher-end service before the Cloud cam service ends on December 2nd, according to MacRumors. Key Edition owners will get a fourth-generation speaker. If you have to pay more to keep your home safe, you should.

In an email to customers, Amazon said it was shutting down Cloud cam service to focus on other products that make your home smarter.

The end of service is not a complete surprise. The Cloud cam was stopped by Amazon at the end of the year. If you are still upset, we will not blame you. Wyze and other brands are ending support for security cameras on relatively short notice. Some users could be left paying more. Some of the Cloud cam's free features, such as quick video access and motion-based recording, require at least a $30 per year Basic subscription. It is a small price, but it is more than you might have expected.
