This is the highest sacrilege in the world of art.

The Louvre Museum in Paris is where it happened. A man dressed as an old lady in a wheelchair threw a piece of cake at the Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece after removing his wig.

The painting is protected by glass and God knows what else, so no damage was done, but it was a scene for sure.

The man shouted at the crowd to think of planet Earth. It was obvious that it was cream. He threw flowers in the gallery.

Think of the Earth, he yelled. People are destroying the Earth. Think about it. Artists tell you to think of the Earth. He figured out a way to get his message out.

Lourve staff quickly removed the smudge from the glass. The vandal was taken to a mental health facility.

The 16th-century Renaissance painting has been targets before. Lourve employee stole it in 1911. It was damaged in a sulfuric acid attack in the 1950s and has been secured behind bulletproof glass ever since.
