Several major cruise lines and travel agents agree that Europe is in high demand this booking season.

Data from various sources shows that interest in Europe travel has been strong in the past six months.

Five of the top 20 destinations people are searching for this year are European cities. Paris, London, Rome, Athens and Lisbon were some of the top searches on the platform.

During the World Travel and Tourism Council's Global Summit in Manila, Philippines, the vice president of insights of ForwardKeys said that an analysis of booked flights as of April 5 showed a strong reactivation of transatlantic travel.

Ponti pointed to demand for European destinations such as Italy as a reason for the revival of city tourism.

In a Travel Weekly survey conducted in late April, 77% of travel advisors said their clients had booked international trips to Europe in the past six months. 70% and 32% of travel advisors say they booked trips to the Caribbean and Mexico, respectively.

Europe bookings are hot right now, according to travel advisors.

Europe has just blown up, said Suzy Schreiner, a cruise and Europe specialist at Seattle-based Azure Blue Vacations.

She said that clients are eager to visit destinations on their bucket lists and are attracted to Europe because borders are open again.

Dennis Nienkerk, a luxury cruise specialist for Strong Travel Services in Dallas, said European sailings have been so strong that he has made about $120,000 in sales in the past two days.

Even if they have been before, they want to go back. He said that they are willing to go through the entire Covid routine.
