AirHelp, a German claims management company that specializes in airline disruption claims, first published its ranking of the world's major airports in 2015. The airports are scored on a scale of 10. Half of an airport's overall score is based on on-time performance. The service quality contributes 20% of the score. Quality of customer service, security wait times, and the airport's appearance are some of the things that are evaluated. Data is collected from passengers who rate food and shopping options on a scale of one to five. AirHelp explained in its methodology brief that it is impossible to get data for airports, and that the ranking only includes the world's best known and most used airports. The top spot was taken by the Hamad International Airport, which was the only one that beat out 131 other airports. It got an overall score of 8.39 out of a possible ten. Several European airports were at the bottom of the list. Eight of the world's 10 lowest-ranked airports are located in Europe. One Middle Eastern airport and one North American airport are included in the bottom ten. AirHelp ranked the 10 worst airports in the world. Entrants are placed in descending order according to their final scores. Keep reading.
