The Toronto BlueJays scratched Vladimir Guerrero Jr. from their starting lineup.
Hours before the first pitch against the Los Angeles Angels, Guerrero was removed from the lineup as the designated hitter. Sportsnet reported that Guerrero has a wrist issue.
In the first three games of the series in Anaheim, where he spent several summers growing up, he went 2-for-12. On Thursday night, Shohei Ohtani was beaten by a home run off the left-field pole by Guerrero.
He has missed only one game this season, and he has played in more games than any other player.
After a power slump that lasted through most of May for the Los Angeles Angels outfielder, his second home run off Ohtani was his second in two games.
He is batting.252 with nine homers and 24 RBIs.
