Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson helped off field after groin injury

Tim Anderson left the game against the Cubs with a groin injury after fielding a ground ball in the top of the fifth.

Anderson will be further evaluated on Monday.

Anderson fell to the ground after throwing the catcher out at first base. He was helped off the field by the training staff.

The second place WhiteSox are in the midst of another injury-riddled season and Anderson is their offensive catalyst. Luis Robert, Yoan Moncada, and Lance Lynn are not on the team. On Saturday, he had to leave his first rehab game.

Danny Mendick replaced Anderson.
