When looking for flights operated by Virgin Atlantic, as well as those operated by their partners, they have a very useful tool. Virgin's flexible dates option allows you to see availability for the date you searched for, as well as the entire week surrounding it. If none of these dates worked, you could choose a price calendar to see availability for the entire month. It is a useful tool for finding awards that are not available on VS.

It has been reported that it is no longer possible to access that monthly calendar, as the option no longer appears on the search landing screen. Virgin says that this is a temporary thing. It makes for a frustratingly slow search experience.

Greg the frequent miler was able to find a way to access the monthly price calendar without using the button after taking a break from his European tour. We will go through the process again here after he posted a video about it.

There’s still a way to access this monthly Virgin Atlantic calendar when searching for awards.

How to see Virgin Atlantic’s monthly calendar

To enter the desired destination and origin, go to Virgin Atlantic's search page, and make sure to check the flexible dates box.

If there is space within three days of the date you requested, you will get a results screen that looks like this.

The price calendar button used to appear next to theFlexible dates, but that is no longer there. The address has the words "flexible-dates" in it. All you have to do is change the dates.

The monthly calendar view will appear as usual once you enter on the address bar.

I did a quick search and found the display was correct.

Quick Thoughts

It's still possible to see Virgin Atlantic's monthly calendar view, which makes it easier to find Summer/Fall availability on the site.

Greg made this happen. It's useful to remember that sometimes pages exist on sites even though there is no click-through method. It can be a very useful option to have in the toolbox, but I never think about it.
