The Lock Screen may feature an always-on display mode, according to Mark Gurman.

Gurman outlined some of the changes that will come to Apple's products in his latest newsletter. The Lock Screen improvements that are rumored for ios 16 set the groundwork for future features, including an always-on screen. Gurman said that theiOS 16 includes future support for an always-on lock screen.

The always-on display was rumored to be a feature of the iPhone 13 Pro models, but it was apparently scrapped before the devices were released. Gurman claims that Apple has continued to work on the feature and is currently working on a version of the phone that has an always-on mode.

The first iPhones to come with 120Hz ProMotion displays were the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro max. The current ProMotion displays are limited to a maximum screen refresh rate of 10 and 120 frames per second. When viewing a static image or when the device is inactive, the panels used by the likes of Oppo and SAMSUNG can drop to as low as 1Hz.

Well- connected display analyst Ross Young recently said that he is expecting the ProMotion displays used in the. Gurman said that the feature may not make the final cut.
