The consultant at Manchester United will not stay on.

The German, who took interim charge of United in November, says he made the decision due to the demands of his new role as Austria manager.

After taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November, United finished the season in sixth place with 58 points and zero goal difference.

Over the past six months, we would like to thank the man who has been interim manager, Ralf Rangnick.

By mutual agreement, Ralf will focus solely on his new role as manager of the Austria national team and will not be taking up a consultant role at Old Manchester.

Ralf Rangnick
Erik ten Hag says the decision to keep Ralf Rangnick on in a consultancy role will ultimately be up to the club but made it clear he will draw his own conclusions
