anthology adventures cover different slices of George Lucas' space opera when it isn't devoting entire sagas to one specific character. The next anthology series is going in a different direction by focusing on a single group of people. We are going back to the Jedi.
At Star Wars Celebration on Saturday, Tales of the Jedi was revealed, which will be a new animated series offering a look at different Jedi from various points in the religious order. Dave Filoni, a guiding hand behind big animation tentpoles The Clone Wars and Rebels, serves as writer and executive producer on this series.
Tales is a title from a Dark Horse comic book series. It was one of the first attempts to build up the Expanded Universe, focusing on Jedi who lived before the Original and Prequel trilogies. In a way I couldn't do in Clone Wars, Filoni wanted to do some extra character work in this iteration of Tales. He was writing Tales to pass the time between flights while making Mandalorian. He was asked if he could make it.
Ahsoka Tano will be featured in a trio of separate shorts that span her entire life. One piece of concept art showed her as a youngling training at the Jedi Temple, and another showed her facing off against an Inquisitor. A short film titled Life and Death was screened at the panel and focused on the early life of Ahsoka. There were scenes with her mother, who will be voiced by Janina Gavankar, star of the Star Wars Battlefront II game.
Count Dooku will be receiving his own shorts, at a time when he was a Sith who was informed of his demotion via decapitation. His stories will feature Mace Windu and his apprentices, who will be voiced by two Neesons. Liam and his son Michael will reprise their roles.

Theater-like sound surrounds you with spatial audio with dynamic head tracking.
The new Tales don't completely scratch the itch of the old stories, but they should do a better job of making the prequel era Jedi as cool as the franchise wants you to think they are most of the time. Disney+ will be getting Tales of the Jedi this fall.
