Droves of supporters of former President Donald Trump are waiting for him to take the stage on Saturday at a rally where he is expected to bash Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, Wyoming's lone member of Congress.

The former president is going to Wyoming to support Hageman, an attorney who is running in the upcoming Republican primary election to oust Cheney, a Trump ally-turned critic. She was one of 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump.

Trump vowed to exact revenge on Republicans like Cheney who he said betrayed him. Cheney has stood her ground against Trump despite the backlash from her own party.

The Wyoming primary is just getting kicked off and Trump is in the state for the first time. Cheney filed for reelection on Thursday. There is no significant polling on the race yet.

The election is seen as a test of the influence of Trump on the Republican Party. The high-profile endorsements of Trump in Georgia failed recently. The Secretary of State and the incumbent Gov. of Georgia had both rejected the push by Trump to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Kemp and Raffensberger both won their primary races. In recent weeks, Trump-backed candidates in Ohio and Pennsylvania won their primaries.
