Cujo the dog, covered in blood, in the 1983 film of the same name.

The last five or six years have been very good for Stephen King, who has been successful for a long time. He has had multiple high profile bestsellers becoming big-budget adaptations for TV and film of his most popular works, to say nothing of the many books he still manages to put out on a frequent basis. If you've found yourself thinking that you need a new King to read, then you'll be happy to hear that he's working on a new novella.

King was a guest for this week's episode, where he revealed that he was working on a sequel. He didn't reveal much about the novella, but he did reveal that it was called Rattlesnakes. It's a terrible scene, since putting children in danger is just a King thing.

The story of St. Bernard, who contracted the disease from rat bites, was told in 1981's Cujo. The dog spends the rest of the book tormenting his family, the Trentons, who are in the midst of a divorce, and eventually drawing the attention of his previous owners. At the time, the book was well received, though it was criticized for having a rather bleak ending. When it was made into a cult classic film in 1983, the ending was changed to be less of a downer. There was a remake of the film announced in 2015, but nothing has happened since.

Rattlesnakes does not have a release window. The dark fantasy novel Fairy Tale will be released on September 6.
