Colin Kaepernick may return to the NFL while America asks itself what is it that the police do, exactly

We have come full circle. After kneeling to protest the murder of Black men and women by American police so enraged white corporate America that he was blackballed by the NFL, Colin Kaepernick is on the road back.

There is no deal in the works for the quarterback who has been without a job for six years, though he did have a five-hour workout with the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday.

White America is finally having a realization that maybe Black Lives Matter and the police/prison abolitionists were right all along.

The revelation comes after seeing the brutal thug who work as agents of the state handcuff the parents of children being murdered in Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

The director of the Texas Department of Safety led a press conference. He said the police commander made the determination that the situation had changed from an active shooter situation to a barricade situation and that he had more time to get the keys to the classroom where students were locked in. 19 local police officers, good guys with guns, were in the hallway as students begged for the police to help them. Three shots could be heard over the phone. Border Patrol entered the classroom and killed the shooter.

Police entered the school to rescue their own kids at the same time that their fellow officers were brutalizing parents outside the school. America has institutionalized policies of equal treatment.

As Kaepernick once said:

People are dying in vain because this country isn’t holding their end of the bargain up as far as, you know, giving freedom and justice and liberty to everybody.

The other details are not clear because the official police account keeps changing.

It went from a school resource officer being shot to an officer engaging the shooter but not exchanging fire. On Thursday, we were told that none of that happened.

It was reported that a school district police officer confronted the suspect. He walked unimpeded.

It's not surprising that it's incredible and galling. The most important thing to remember when dealing with cops is that they lie all the time.

Parents were not allowed to rush into the school because the police had the man pinned down in a classroom full of children. The man barricaded himself inside the school for an hour before police confronted him.

The police were not doing anything to stop the murder. Not doing anything to stop the violence. Why? That is not the job of the police.

America spends a lot of money on police and prisons. They have not been cut off. Police don't have a duty to protect you. This has been argued many times, including at the Supreme Court. Police don't have to stop crime even if they see it.

This is not a new thing. In 1999 it took police three hours to get to the school. The school resource officer didn't enter the building during the shooting.

The Buffalo shooter was in a fascist white supremacist chatroom with a retired federal agent who may have had 30 minutes advance notice of the planned murder spree.

Police in schools have not been able to stop a mass shooting spree, but they have kept the school open.

It feels as though we have suffered a never-ending cycle of horrible violence and oppression, whether it is a pandemic that killed 1 million people or the presidency of Donald Trump.

It has been shocking and horrifying, but nothing compares to the privileged population being unplugged from the Matrix and seeing capitalism and its inherent evils.

The issue of gun control has been debated for a long time, but too many politicians are still owned by the NRA. On the same day that 19 children were killed in a shooting, Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic establishment secured a victory for anti-abortion. Let's not forget that the greatest advocate of shooting the person in the leg is President Biden. The Second Amendment can go fuck itself if massive gun control reform is not done.

Most of the twisted young men in our society are sexually repressed and misogynistic.

This points to a nation that is deranged and sick at its core.

The American misery machine needs to be re-examined. We will probably get more money for cops, more weapons sent all over the world, and more money to feed babies or keep them safe.

The police are not heroes, despite what Hollywood tells you. The property of the rich elites is protected by them. They are there to keep the prison industrial complex going. Maybe it will be different this time. Probably not, but maybe people will rethink what he was doing.
