  • Multiple meals, special Lightning Lane passes, character interactions, and more are included for $5,200.

  • The Disney World hotel had great food, character interactions, and more.

A stay at Disney's Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is expensive, but as a professional travel advisor who recently stayed there, I can confidently say it's worth it.

The Starcruiser hotel at Disney World is more than just a place to stay. Guests become part of the story with special food and entertainment. People of all ages can stay at each two-night, three-day stay.

My husband is a Star Wars fan and I wanted to give him a Christmas gift.

The add-ons we could have chosen were included in our trip.

There are a few types of cabins, but we stayed in the standard one

My husband and I stayed in the standard cabin.

Our room had a queen bed, bunk beds, bathroom, mini table and chairs, closets with a safe and soft robes for us to wear, and a window that looks out into space.

I loved gazing out of that window as I fell asleep each night. It was relaxing.

The ship has 100 cabins and suites. Standard cabins can sleep up to five, grand-captain suites can sleep up to eight, and galaxy-class suites can sleep up to four.

All dining is included with the stay and we had multiple meals and unlimited non-alcoholic drinks

The Halcyon feeds you.

All of the dining takes place in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room and is included in the cost of your hotel stay.

Everything was delicious and amazing.Lynnmarie Wolverton

We could choose from a breakfast buffet or a to-go boxed breakfast on the third day.

Some of the meals looked out of this world.Lynnmarie Wolverton

All meals include non-alcoholic drinks. The blue and green milks can be ordered at Star Wars:Galaxy's Edge, where one cup usually costs $8.

Alcohol and other specialty cocktails in the Sublight Lounge are an extra charge.

The best food I have ever eaten on Disney property came from the Starcruiser, which is huge coming from a total Disney enthusiast like me.

Everyone received Databands, which are special MagicBands

A white databand on the writer's wrist
We got to keep the Databands.Lynnmarie Wolverton

Each person on the Starcruiser gets a databand to use during their stay.

The Databands connect you with your data on the ship. They allow you to use taps to open your cabin, participate in side missions, and more.

You can use them on future trips to Disney World if you keep them.

The character interactions and performances were on a whole other level

Little details, like the characters remembering out names, made this experience unique and magical.Lynnmarie Wolverton

When we passed them walking down hallways and interacting with each other, the crew never broke character.

Lieutenant Croy was our favorite character. We were involved in his side missions. Each visitor might have different side missions with other characters on the Starcruiser.

Gaya, a singer, and other performers were at dinner on the first night. The Storm Troopers, as well as the Captain, made appearances at the dinners.

We also did bridge training and lightsaber training

Bridge training was our favorite. It was similar to playing a series of mini games.

Bridge training felt like it was for teens and adults, whereas lightsaber training felt more geared to young children.

Disney could make lightsaber training more challenging for older guests by adding an advanced level of training.

The experience includes a visit to Galaxy's Edge in Disney's Hollywood Studios

On day two, we were taken from our ship to Batuu, Disney World's Star Wars-themed land.

The transportation to get there was very cool. It was an attraction with some fun music and magic.

The Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run attractions are available to use at any time during the visit. Depending on how popular the attraction is, the Lightning Lanes can cost between $7 and $15 per ride.

Special pins are given to you before you go.

We had to return our transportation back to the ship by 4 pm. You had to find your own way back to the Starcruiser if you missed that or decided to stay in the park later.

You can also pay for add-ons like photo packages and dining upgrades

The Captain's Table looked really cool but I didn't snag a reservation.Lynnmarie Wolverton
  • If guests want to go to Oga's Cantina, they can. You can make reservations for themed spots 60 days in advance of your voyage date. There is a special Starcruiser mission that you can participate in at Oga's Cantina.

  • We tried to pay more for the Captain's Table, but it was too difficult to get a spot. The experience costs $30 more and seats are limited. Guests who participated in the event were able to interact with the Captain and try additional food and drinks.

  • If you don't book your portrait session in advance, it will be first-come, first-served. If you want a guaranteed spot, I suggest booking your photo session ahead of time.

Overall, the experience was worth the price

I'm so glad we stayed at the Starcruiser.Lynnmarie Wolverton

I felt the price I paid was justified for everything that was included in the experience, and watching my husband live out his best Star Wars life was priceless.

The level of service, the cast, and the food were amazing.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a Star Wars fan.
