After the credits roll, the impact of the choices you make will stay with you. The Rise- Home Stories Project has created a fully-fleshed out narrative video game for people of color, which is rare in the gaming industry.

The game is free to download on the Apple App Store, itch.io, and Steam. It is one of five projects designed to work at the intersection of race, housing, and land justice. The opportunity to work together, create something meaningful, and build life-changing relationships was offered by Dot's Home, which was in the making for several years.

The goal was to produce projects, according to Christina Rosales, who worked with writer Evan Narcisse to create the narrative vision for the game.

In Dot's Home, the main character is navigating her grandmother's choice to buy or sell her home in a neighborhood in Detroit, and what that means for her and her family. The game focuses on thetergenerational impact of housing inequality and how individual choices can affect an entire community.

Night in the Woods is one of the games that she likes to play because it is intimate and immersive. She wanted it to feel like curling up with a good book.

The game tackles issues like redlining, predatory lending, and poverty which are all issues inherently wrapped within racism, based on the team's personal and community experiences.

The family left a neighborhood where the high school graduation rate was 50 percent. The player is presented with a similar situation.
