Jerry Jones thinks that CeeDee Lamb will be an upgrade over the traded Amari Cooper.
Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram was told that opinion by Jones. He said that he was not referring to Cooper as a slight, but that Lamb brings the makings of a No. 1 wideout.
Lamb had more catches last year than Cooper did. Cooper has had a good season with 865 yards and eight scores.
For the first time in his three-year career, Lamb is the clear receiver on the depth chart. He has been an excellent addition to the team since he was drafted 17th in the 2020 NFL draft. The ex-Oklahoma star had 74 catches for 935 yards and five touchdown in his first year.
The Cowboys have a new look on their depth chart with Lamb now a receiver and Gallup and Washington serving as the team's other two wide outs. Washington replaced Wilson, who left to join the Miami Dolphins. Washington arrived in Dallas via Pittsburgh.
Dallas still has Noah Brown and Simi Fehoko on the depth chart, but they have a new addition. The third-round pick was the Sun Belt's offensive player of the year in 2021.
