Brad Marchand will be out for six months after hip surgeries.

Marchand had labral repair on his hips. The procedure was done in New York by Dr. Bryan Kelly.

Marchand led the Bruins with 80 points in 70 games. He had 11 points in seven playoff games before the Bruins bowed out. In the fourth game of that series, Carolina scored five points.

Marchand was going to have an evaluation hip-wise, and he would consult with team doctors.

He is the second Bruins player to have surgery this year, as Matt Grzelcyk needed a shoulder procedure. The uncertainty of Boston's offseason has been added by the latest development.
