Starlink, the satellite internet service launched by Musk's space exploration company, has been approved in Nigeria and Mozambique.
Three days later, Musk answered a question about the service launch in Africa.
The first countries in Africa will be announced soon.
Starlink operates in more than 30 countries where it is legal to provide internet services.
It has been in the works for a long time in Nigeria. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the country's telecommunications regulator, received representatives from SpaceX in May to discuss the possibility of obtaining a license to operate Starlink in Nigeria.
According to reports from local press, the NCC has approved this license. The publication said that Starlink Internet Services Nigeria was granted a license under the Internet Service Provider (ISP) category.
Nigerian telecom operators have had to compete against each other without improving their internet quality because of Starlink.
One argument against Starlink is that it is expensive. For a full kit, including a terminal, mounting tripod, and Starlink, it costs $600 a month. The full kit costs about $1 million and the premium service costs about $2,500 a month.
SpaceX’s Starlink prices are going up across the board
