The sequel to the 1986 movie "Top Gun" is now playing in theaters. The movie was released on May 27 and will be streaming on Paramount Plus in July.
Paramount previously announced that its new movies will stay in theaters for at least 45 days before streaming. Top Gun: Maverick could be added to Paramount Plus as soon as July 11.
Tom Cruise reprises his role as Pete Mitchell, a US Navy test pilot who is tasked with training a group of young Top Gun graduates for a high-risk specialized mission. Bradshaw is the son of a late best friend of Maverick.
Val Kilmer reprises his role as Tom "Iceman" Kazansky, a rival of Maverick. The new cast members are Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, and Ed Harris.
Top Gun: Maverick has a 98% rating on review-aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, with some critics saying it is better than the first movie. The film received a standing ovation from the audience at the premiere.
The only place you can watch Top Gun is in a movie theater. You can find movie times near you and buy tickets on websites.
After the theatrical premiere of Top Gun on May 27th, it will be available on Paramount Plus. The movie could hit Paramount Plus as early as July 11.
The Lost City and Jackass Forever were both added to Paramount Plus within the same general release window.
All Paramount Plus subscribers will be able to watch the new movie once it is available. There are two subscription plans offered by Paramount Plus.
The Essential plan costs $5 a month and includes access to the entire on-demand streaming library with limited commercial interruption, as well as live sports on CBS. You can watch your local CBS station live with the Paramount Plus Premium plan, which is $10 a month.

If you want to watch Top Gun on the service, it starts at $10 a month for standard definition. The Standard plan is for high definition streaming on up to two devices. The Premium plan costs $20 a month for up to 4K quality and the most screens. Top Gun is not streaming in 4K on Netflix.
The first Top Gun movie follows a group of naval aviators who are given the chance to train in the Navy's Top Gun program. In 2015, the movie was added to the Library of Congress' National Film Registry for preservation.
